The <strong>second largest city<\/strong> in Florida in terms of area has only emerged in the 50s of the last century. Maybe it would not exist if it had not been for <strong>Leonard and Jack Rosen<\/strong>. At an early age, the gifted salesmen recognized how effective they were with their products, and that the TV could bring their product (a hair care product amongst other things) into the living room of the end user. They are considered the inventors of so-called <strong>infomercials<\/strong>. An anecdote about the founding history appeared in 2017 in the News-Press. In an incredible feat of strength, a large number of <strong>waterways<\/strong> emerged within a very short time. The wetland was drained. The interested parties were flown over the country with a Cessna and were able to drop a flour sack over their desired property. To further stimulate demand, the Rosens had Cape Coral Gardens built as a first attraction, that location is where now the <strong>Tarpon Point Marina<\/strong> is located. Even celebrities, like Hollywood star Bob Hope and jazz legend Duke Ellington, for example, helped <strong>raise public interest in this part of Florida<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>An incredible development<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In retrospect, it seems almost impossible, what Leonard and Jack Rosen created <strong>in Cape Coral<\/strong> almost out of nothing. At the end of the fifties, two years after the development work had begun, there were a total of 280 inhabitants. This made Cape Coral way to small to garner a spot on a map. These first few hundred people have now grown to around 180,000.
